Africa's independent betting review platform. Honest reviews, real testing, no paid placements.
BettingInAfrica exists for one reason: to help African bettors make informed decisions. The online betting market across Africa is growing fast β but so is the number of unreliable operators, misleading bonus claims, and outright scams. We believe every bettor deserves access to honest, data-driven information about the platforms they trust with their money.
Our mission is simple: provide the most thorough, transparent, and genuinely useful betting site reviews available anywhere on the continent. We don't accept payment for positive reviews. We don't inflate ratings to please advertisers. We test every site ourselves β and we tell you exactly what we found.
Founded in 2024, BettingInAfrica is an independent review and comparison platform covering the six largest online betting markets in Africa: Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and DR Congo.
Our team consists of experienced sports bettors, industry analysts, and content specialists with deep knowledge of the African betting landscape. We understand the unique challenges that African bettors face β from limited payment options and unreliable internet connections to regulatory uncertainty and predatory operators.
We're not a betting company. We don't operate sportsbooks, and we don't take bets. We're an informational platform that earns revenue through affiliate partnerships β when you sign up to a betting site through one of our links, we may receive a referral commission. Importantly, these commissions never influence our ratings. Our full methodology is explained on our How We Rate page.
There's no shortage of "best betting sites" lists on the internet. Most of them are thin affiliate pages with generic descriptions and inflated ratings designed to maximise clicks. BettingInAfrica is different, and here's why:
We register, deposit, bet, and withdraw on every site we review. No demo accounts, no screenshots β real testing with real money.
We test on budget Android devices because that's what most African bettors use. If it doesn't work on a β¦50,000 phone, we note it.
M-Pesa, MTN MoMo, OPay, USSD, bank transfer β we test every local payment method, not just Visa and Mastercard.
Reviews are re-evaluated every month. Odds change, apps update, payment speeds fluctuate β our reviews reflect reality.
We currently cover six African countries, each with dedicated content tailored to local operators, payment methods, regulations, and betting culture:
